SFW rides to work in support of Car Free Day

An agency of cyclists takes to two wheels.

GREENSBORO, NC - SFW, an insights, strategy and activation company based in Greensboro has fostered a community of cyclists. The agency employees are used to giving up their four wheels for two, and this week is no exception. SFW biked to work on Friday, September 21 in celebration of Car Free Day.

Car Free Day is an international event that takes place every September 22. People are encouraged to leave the car at home and bike, walk or take public transportation to get around.

“Getting around in Greensboro is easy with a car. We are such a drivable city that we often take for granted how our trips to the office impact the environment. At SFW, we like to pay attention to days like Car Free Day that draw attention to improving the environment and inspiring healthy, active living,” said Ged King, CEO of SFW.

Cycling is important to the agency culture at SFW. SFW’s participation in Car Free Day is focused on reducing the agency’s carbon foot-print, building community within the agency and inspiring healthy activity.

“We picked Friday to participate in Car Free Day so we could ride together and make a bigger impact. Saving the car commute to work is an easy way to make a large impact and riding as a group helps us hold each other accountable,” said Emily Bratton, Director Digital and event organizer.

SFW met at Jaycee Park in Greensboro this morning and rode together to the SFW office. After the day’s work, the agency will ride back together at 4:30 p.m.
