Serving more non-profits than ever before

SFW presents the 18th annual CreateAthon Event

GREENSBORO, NC (NOV. 28, 2018)— As a partner agency, SFW is participating in a 24-hour charity event called CreateAthon on Dec. 6, 2018. For the past 17 years, SFW has provided pro-bono marketing materials to local and national non-profit organizations. This year, SFW received more applications than ever before.

“The increase in the number of applications this year shows us that we’re doing important work that organizations need. Many non-profits can’t afford important marketing materials to spread awareness and support for their cause. We enjoy being part of a team that has the capacity to make a difference for these organizations,” said Ged King, CEO of SFW.

CreatAthon is an overnight work marathon where marketing teams and advertising agencies create assets for national and local non-profit organizations. SFW will work around the clock and use their creative expertise to produce communication and marketing materials for 29 selected non-profit organizations.

This year, the following organizations will participate in the 2018 CreateAthon event at SFW:

We look forward to it every year,” said Ken Maxwell, Executive Director of Seven Homes, a 10-year participant in CreateAthon with SFW.

Recent agency growth at SFW has helped increase the non-profit client roster for the event. The company has hired over 10 new employees in creative and account teams, seen record sales numbers, and experienced major account milestones within the past year. The agency’s success has increased their capacity to serve more organizations than ever.

Peter Mitchell, SFW President and professor at Wake Forest University will bring his advanced marketing campaigns class to the event where they will present their end of the year projects.

“Bringing my Wake Forest students to CreateAthon is a great learning opportunity for them to see how an agency operates in real time,” said Mitchell.

“Our company loves CreateAthon. It’s a bonding opportunity for us and it’s a fun way to give back to organizations who need services that we can deliver,” said Jessica Holke, CreateAthon organizer at SFW.

CreateAthon’s mission is to deliver more than $100 million dollars in pro-bono marketing services by 2020. So far, the organization has delivered $24 million dollars in marketing services for more than 1,300 community organizations.

SFW is the single largest marketing agency to participate in the event, nationwide. The agency will produce and tri-fold over 5,000 brochures and produce around $250,000 worth of work for the participating non-profit organizations.
